DDA Dancers took top honors during the DMA Convention over the weekend!  They were able to take classes from three amazing teachers – Michael Lemanski, Evan Kasprzak, and Dustin Phillips in contemporary, musical theatre, and hip hop classes.  DDA Dancers did a great job in all of the convention rooms – we were honored to be chosen as the “Dancers with Heart”  as well – Congrats to Makenna Holland (Overall Mini Winner), Katie Charest (Junior Hip Hop), Audrey Holland(Senior Hip Hop), Erica Cohen(Senior Contemporary), and Kaitlyn Stout (Senior Musical Theatre) for their special awards!

We will hold all regular classes on Monday, Jan 16 – MLK Day.  Come join the fun and dance!!

Great job DDA Dancers this weekend at JUMP!  We had a fabulous time learning from great instructors.  Our dancers had the opportunity to take classes from Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels, Nick Lazzarini, Mike Minery, Misha Gabriel, and other fabulous teachers!!  So proud of everyone!  And a special congrats to Grace D, Shelby B and Bella C for winning some great scholarships!!

Don Mirault from Las Vegas was our Master Class teacher last week at DDA – and what an awesome time we had with him!  The dancers were able to take his class and then learn so much from his critiques!  We are so excited to compete our new DDA dances this spring!  Thanks so much Don – we love you!

Our DDA Dancers will soon be featured performers at Walt Disney World!  Our dance performance group has been invited back for the third time to perform at Downtown Disney – and participate in a Disney Workshop in Epcot.  We are so excited!  Dancers will be performing at the end of October.  Good luck to all!

Denise’s Dance Academy dancers were the featured performers for the recent Sunset Safari at the Kansas City Zoo!  Our dancers had the opportunity to share our Award-winning “Lion King” production number for an outdoor audience during a Friday nigh special event.  OUr Lion King production was choreographed by Nadine Price-Rojas and Melissa Charest – and won the Costume Award and Best Production at Nationals this summer.  After the performance, dancers stayed on to have photos taken with audience members – it was a great night!

DDA Dancers were the featured performers on the Main Stage at the Johnson County Fair!  Dancers performed solos, duets, and group dancers and were a big hit with the crowd.  Thanks to all of the dancers who came out to entertain!

Come meet our staff, view our studios, and check out all that we have to offer at DDA!  We will be hosting Open Houses on Saturday, August 20 and Saturday August 27 from 1-4 pm each day.  We will also have shoes to try on and order and one-stop shopping for dancewear!  We look forward to meeting you!

Denise’s Dance Academy was proud to be a part of the Touchdown Family Health Festival sponsored by Truman Medical Center in July.  Our dancers were the featured performers for the entertainment segment.  Our dancers also led the Flash Mob – lots of fun!  Marci Farrar, a DDA Instructor, treated the crowd to a Zumba presentation – which our dancers and staff members were all a part of as well!  Congrats on a successful day at Arrowhead Stadium!
